Tomorrow is the vote for the Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, a billionaire whose personal interest in privatizing and destroying public education makes her unfit for this position.
Democrats are attempting to hold the floor of the Senate until midday Tuesday when DeVos' vote is scheduled to occur. Mike Pence has vowed to be the deciding vote if need be. Democrats need 1 more Republican to vote No in order to stop DeVos' nomination.
Three more confirmation votes are scheduled - Jeff Sessions as Attorney General, Tom Price to lead Health and Human Services and Steven Mnuchin as Treasury Secretary. We encourage all ADA members to call, message and hound any Senator that is planning to vote for these candidates.
